The Annual Dinner of The Sydney Speleological Society is the most formal event in the society's calendar.
This is an occasion when old members and friends of the society gather with the active membership to talk about
caving, renew old acquaintances. As always, this promises to be a fantastic night, with the presentation of awards,
fun prizes and raffles, a generous buffet dinner with dessert and tea/coffee, and the eagerly awaited talk on bats,
by Margaret Turton of the Australasian Bat Society.

Margaret Turton of the Australasian Bat Society
 Marg has been fascinated by bats for over 20 years. She has carried out bat surveys in many areas and for the last
8 years has been monitoring a maternity colony of White-striped Free-tail Bats (Austronomus australis), discovering
interesting facts about this little known species. Marg also holds an annual Bat Night in the Blue Mountains which for the past few years has attracted over 400 people – the biggest bat night event in Australia. Marg will share her knowledge and passion for these amazing animals. Festivities commence at 7pm at Club Burwood (upstairs function room), 97 Burwood Road, Burwood. Cost is $40 per head, payable on entry. Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket (or ten!) to be in the running for some great prizes! |
